FAQ

What if I don't know how to ride a horse?
No worries! It's easy! We determine your skill level and pair you with the horse that best matches your abilities. We have horses for the more experienced rider to the perfect babysitter horse for the less experienced or young child. Your wrangler will also start you off with a quick lesson and won't hit the trail until you feel comfortable on your horse. The wrangler can also "pony" or lead kids on their horse if needed.

What should I wear on my ride?
Definitely wear jeans. We also suggest long sleeves to protect against the sun and brush. Layers are important because the temperature can vary drastically from the early morning to afternoon. Don't forget your hat and sunglasses to protect from the sun!

What should I bring on my ride?
Arizona can be warm any time of year... especially during the summer. You will be out in the sun most of the time so sunscreen is recommended. Definitely bring a camera to record your horseback adventure! Make sure it has a strap to loop around your wrist or tie to your saddle so it doesn't get lost. A small fanny pack works well to hold phones, cameras, sunscreen and water. Phones do tend to fall out of pockets when riding.

Rider Requirements
In consideration of our horses... we have a weight limit of 250 lbs. The age limit to ride on the trails is 5 years old. We do offer pony rides for younger children around the staging area so please feel free to ask!

Do you provide protective head gear?
Yes. We have helmets for both adults and children. If you do not wish to wear a helmet, you will need to fill out a waiver. (see below)

Should I tip my Wrangler?
At Cowboy Way Adventures we say " If you liked your ride, kiss your horse and tip your guide!". Many people don't realize that it is customary to tip your trail ride wrangler. If you had a fabulous time on your horseback adventure, show your appreciation by tipping your wrangler.
